Decatur welcomed the start of the 2026 FIFA World Cup with the opening of its WatchFest26 event, a 34-day viewing party dedicated to enjoying the tournament as a local and international community. The event, over a month long, is taking place on Decatur’s newly renovated downtown square, which recently completed an $8 million improvement project. As long-time residents of Decatur, Lenz is excited to join in the celebration from its office on the square, overlooking the WatchFest26 screen and stage, which will host a musical act to play after every World Cup match.

Lenz enjoyed the privilege of assisting the City of Decatur in preparing for WatchFest26 since nearly the event’s inception. Lenz created the name, logo, and visual identity for the event, in partnership with the Decatur WatchFest26 marketing committee. The event’s marketing committee consists of Lenz CEO and President Mike Killeen, Dan Costa of Ideas United, Jon Katinsky of Hothouse, Inc., Gael Doyle of the City of Decatur, and John Spear of GTB.

The logo features a fun, colorful soccer ball graphic circumscribed by the all-caps “Decatur WatchFest26” moniker and is the hallmark visual for the event, painted on Decatur’s city streets in highly visible intersections, and used in all formal marketing and official merchandise.

Additionally, Lenz’s long-time non-profit partner, Amplify My Community –founded by Lenz President and CEO Mike Killeen and managed by Lenz Vice President Christine Mahin –helped the city book and produce all 34 musical acts that will accompany each game, including the Grammy-winning acts Big Boi, The War And Treaty, and Indigo Girls, who are all playing to sold-out audiences.

The full match and music schedule can be found on the Decatur WatchFest26 website.

“We’re proud to see the city’s hard work coming to fruition,” says Killeen. “And with a one-of-a-kind opportunity like this, we’re proud to have collaborated with the WatchFest26 committee to do our part in promoting all that the City of Decatur has to offer.”

As the city gears up for the tournament, the Decatur WatchFest26 is garnering expansive media coverage, including recent segments by 11 Alive, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, USA Today, and more. Lenz is proud to have lent a hand to such an important event for the City of Decatur, and can’t wait to continue supporting throughout the summer by attending WatchFest26 events and cheering on Team USA, as well as the City of Decatur.
