545 N. McDonough — built in 1922 and Lenz’s home today — is now available for private events.
Located in the heart of Decatur and overlooking the recently renovated downtown square and new performance stage, the space brings the charm of a century-old landmark to your gatherings. Originally constructed as Decatur’s first modern fireproof structure and the long-time home of the Decatur Bank & Trust Company, the building’s architectural character—including large, scenic windows that give your guests a unique, bright perspective onto the bustling Decatur square—makes the space a memorable venue for events of all kinds.

545 N. McDonough was the perfect setting for our recent event! The newly renovated space is open, bright, and comfortable, and the view of the stage was ideal. This is a great and much needed addition to Decatur’s event venue offerings!
Packages and Pricing
Note: Below pricing is subject to change without notice based on seasonality, demand, and scheduled events on the downtown Decatur Square. Each event will be quoted and the quoted price will be honored.

Additional Policies, Costs, and Renter Responsibilities
Down Payment and Security Deposit
50 percent non-refundable payment plus $500 refundable security/damage deposit is due to reserve space. Security deposit will be refunded following inspection, provided there is no damage, excessive cleaning required, or policy violations.
Cleaning Fee
A $180 cleaning fee is required and due three days before the event. The reserving party is still responsible for cleaning up and removing any items brought into the space after the event.
Insurance
Renting party is required to have proof of event insurance on file. Please inquire if you need assistance securing insurance for your event.
Security
Security is required for all evening events. Renters are responsible for hiring and paying licensed security directly; security must be approved by event staff.
Noise Complaints
Live music and/or DJs are permitted. Any noise complaints that require security or patrol response will result in immediate shutdown of the event and forfeiture of the full $500 deposit.
Alcohol
Alcohol may only be served with prior written approval from management.
Alcohol may only be served by a licensed bartender hired by the renter; bartender license must be on file before the event.
Alcohol is prohibited for guests under 21 years of age.
Charging for alcohol, wine dispensers, and self-serve alcohol are strictly prohibited.
Other Notes
545 N. McDonough does not have dedicated parking, but a load-in zone available.
The event space is on the top floor of the building, accessible via three flights of stairs.
The freight elevator is available for bringing supplies to the event space. Upon prior request, the elevator may be used by guests who are unable to take the stairs but only when accompanied by a 545 representative.
