As the prevalence of COVID-19 began to surge again this Fall, longtime Lenz client, Science ATL, decided to hold its annual Race Through Space fundraiser as a virtual event this year. We were excited to jump to the occasion and help them plan and promote this important initiative.
Lenz branded and marketed a new virtual racing app, the Race Through Space Galaxy Edition. The free app allows participants to run or walk a virtual 5K in their neighborhoods while traversing 54 million light-years across nine galaxies. Developed with Winnona Partners, the interactive, educational app has a delightful snarky script and some quirky music to punctuate the experience. Lenz created the app’s look and feel, color scheme, fonts, and finally a logo and app. icon to help it stand out on your phone.
At the same time, Lenz developed and executed an interactive marketing campaign around a race weekend to launch the app that combined social media, PR., and influencer community outreach. Through these efforts, we secured media coverage through WABE-FM, Metro Atlanta CEO, the DeKalb Champion, and a posting with the Atlanta Track Club.
