Thanks to our clients, 2008 was another great year at Lenz! We worked on dozens of exciting projects and embraced a number of new opportunities. Here are just a few of the highlights.

Celebration of Life

In March, Lenz helped the Georgia Cancer Foundation celebrate the 25th anniversary Celebration of Life event in style. GCF's signature event for breast cancer survivors treated 250 attendees to a survivor fashion show and a keynote address by Vince and Barbara Dooley. Lenz played an integral role in planning and promoting the event.

City Schools of Decatur

As Decatur High School approached completion of a new football stadium, Lenz worked with school officials to shape the first naming rights campaign for a public school in the state of Georgia. Based on thorough national research and in-depth assessments of the local market, Lenz helped set sponsorship levels, establish a sponsor benefits package, and create sales materials for the campaign.

2008 Decatur Book Festival

For the third straight year, the AJC Decatur Book Festival Presented by DeKalb Medical was an overwhelming success. The event that Lenz helped establish in 2006 drew more than 60,000 book lovers to the downtown Decatur square for a weekend of literature, music, food, and fun. Lenz again handled all event communications, including marketing, advertising, and PR—plus design of the festival poster and program, web site, signage, ticketing, and more.

Doc Talk

This year, Lenz produced four issues of Doc Talk, a DeKalb Medical publication for primary care physicians that is designed to improve patient care through a shared awareness of cutting-edge programs and procedures available within Atlanta's physician community. Lenz named the publication and handled all editorial and design needs.

Georgia Cancer Specialists breast cancer advertising campaign

In October, Lenz launched an advertising campaign promoting Georgia Cancer Specialists's state-of-the-art breast cancer treatment services. The campaign appeared on TV, radio, print, and online media throughout the Atlanta market.

Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta Legacy book

This year, the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta's leadership recognized the need to create a permanent endowment to fund Atlanta's Jewish community for generations to come. Lenz conceived, wrote, and designed the central communications piece for the multi-million dollar campaign—a 36-page book that makes the case for the endowment and aims to inspire a community to grow and support it.

Leadership DeKalb web site

Lenz developed and launched a new web site for Leadership DeKalb––a non-profit leadership development program in DeKalb County. The site includes a database-backed content management system and photo and video galleries.

Lenz Music fundraiser for cancer education and support

In October, Lenz Music, a division of Lenz, Inc., raised more than $5,000 for two Atlanta non-profit cancer organizations––the Georgia Cancer Foundation and the Magic of Life Foundation––at a benefit concert held at Eddie's Attic in downtown Decatur. Proceeds were split equally between the two organizations. The sellout show was headlined by Johnny Clash––a band comprised of Lenz president/CEO Richard Lenz, marketing director Michael Killeen, art director Scott Sanders, and honorary Lenz director of security, Shawn Vinson. Lenz marketing manager Nathan Beaver also performed.

Mama Says "No More Frozen Pizza"

Lenz was the creative force behind Mama Says "No More Frozen Pizza," conceived by two busy moms whose kids continually called home for recipes but who said "Yeah right, Mom" when they recommended they buy a cookbook. MSNMFP––a collection of 24 laminated recipe cards cleverly packaged in a pizza box––has gotten rave reviews from dozens of media outlets. Lenz assisted with product development and designed the packaging, web site, and direct mail.

Tall Rocker

Have you ever sat on your porch, trying to relax with a cold beverage, attempting to enjoy the scenery you have worked so hard to enjoy, only to have your view blocked by a railing? If so, the Tall Rocker is the chair for you! In 2008, Lenz conceived and designed the Tall Rocker: A Chair With a View. It's a safe, comfortable, attractive, and durable chair that removes the porch rail obstruction from your line of sight. Purchase yours today at TallRockers.com.

Totes 2 Tots

Lenz played an integral role in the success of Georgia Cancer Specialists's sixth annual Totes 2 Tots event, helping the practice collect more than 4,500 suitcases and backpacks for Georgia's foster children and lifting the six-year total to more than 12,500. Lenz led a PR campaign resulting in dozens of news stories and secured a media partnership with WSB-TV's Family 2 Family program to further promote the event. Georgia F ../tinymce/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/themes/advanced/langs/en.js" type="text/javascript"> irst Lady Mary Purdue voiced her support for Totes during a TV appearance alongside GCS representatives, and presented GCS with a Governor's proclamation recognizing the event's positive impact in the community.
