Lenz, a marketing and design company located in Decatur, has selected Kristen Englert, a recent Collins Hill High School honor graduate, to fill its lone summer internship position. The internship began on May 27 and will end on August 1.
"I know that a lot of talented people from every walk in life apply for this internship. To be chosen is an honor," said Englert. On average, Lenz receives one application a day from college graduates looking to gain experience at Lenz.
"I am extremely excited about working at Lenz. I think that any experience in the fields of Marketing and Public Relations can help in future jobs and relationships that are necessary to advance in the world," said Englert.
While at Lenz, Englert will receive a well-rounded internship. Some of her jobs will include research and copy writing for the Lenz marketing department, assisting the Decatur Book Festival committee, and working in the Vinson Gallery, an art gallery located in downtown Decatur.
This fall, Englert will attend the University of North Carolina in Asheville. "I am excited about college. I plan to major in musical performance, but I am also interested in many other fields such as art and travel," said Kristen, "When the internship is complete, I would love to take with me improved writing and communication skills. These abilities are increasingly rare, and possessing them will serve me well." Lenz Marketing Director Michael Killeen said, "We're excited Kristen is joining our team this summer. Her talent and hard work will help her fit in nicely."
